God STILL Loves New York

All is well in the aftermath of Sandy here in Upstate New York,
schools are open and we still have power.
We were even greeted with this brief show of color shortly after sunrise.

Best wishes to ALL my friends and customers who did not fare as well
especially those in NYC and New Jersey.

I .... love New York!

Camp Creekside and Harvest Festival

Here is the locale of our weekend getaway in the mountains,
we stayed here while vending this past weekend
at the Gore Mountain Harvest Festival in North Creek,
an Adirondack Ski Town about 45 minutes north of us.
Lots of people are still touring and traveling the area for foliage season,
the festival was packed with families from all over.
This photo is from day 2 before the festivities began.

This photo was from day 2, there were so many things for kids to do which was a very nice change of pace - several bouncy bounce houses, gondola rides,
mini carnival & bungee rides and a rock climbing wall.
So we were able to keep out youngest pretty well entertained for both days.

The decor was classic Adirondack! Inside & out.

 Fall Foliage ....

& Robin Hood on stilts?

I spent my downtime listening to this creek on the back porch at the cabin
& re-reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.
I have not read it for many years
and had forgotten that many of the scenes took place in the Adirondacks.
She describes the 'classic Adirondack decor' look perfectly in the book.
Irony, coincidence or serendipity!?
